Gentle Beasts

by, SomeGuynDC

Let me watch the autumn air
raise goosebumps in the cold
as breezes coat the forest floor
with leaves of red and gold

arouse me like a rutting buck
awakening animal desires
entice me with inviting scents
ignite all my seasonal fires

seek me out amongst the grasses
share the warm instinctive show
accept this seed within your body
where it’s ripe for fruit to grow

are we now so far from wild
that we have lost our mating call
shed the culture for the passion
seek the sensual lust of fall

growls and hisses bites and scratches
we release the beasts within
somehow found in autumn’s freedom
we are animals again

If you are curious about me,
this is a good place to start.
